Here at the Hunt there’s been a little bit of controversy if a feline friend should be brought by its owner to raves, even if it’s wearing headphones (cat headphones!). An advice columnist at the Slate says it’s probably okay, and that if said cat was uncomfortable, it “would make its displeasure known”. Beatport is paws down on this one:
"As cute and funny as it might seem to have a furry friend accompany you to a rave (assuming it’s not a service animal), the experience would likely be the opposite for the pet. Cats typically enjoy quiet environments that don’t involve drunk and drugged-up strangers aggressively petting it, and if the volume is verging on unbearably loud for humans, it’s really messing with cats. Even if that cat is not visibly displeased, it’s possible that he or she is just too terrified to do anything."
Let’s just agree to not bring (non-service) animals to raves, okay? PLUR ≠ PURR.
Furry friends are welcome at the Foxgrove, headphones not included. Let us know if you want to bring your friends when you take a music production or DJ class with us.
